The Telangana High Court expressed its anger on the behavior of HYDRA demolitions during weekends, without giving proper time to the victims. Many approached the High Court against the demolitions in Aminpur of Sangareddy district. HYDRA Commissioner Ranganath appeared virtually in the Court and gave an explanation for the investigation.
The High Court expressed anger that why demolitions are being carried out on Saturdays, Sundays and after sunset? Why do you have to work on Sunday? The Judge wondered why they are giving notices during holidays and demolishing urgently? It reminded them that there were previous court rulings not to demolish on Saturdays and Sundays.
Ranganath told the High Court that action was taken on the request of the Tehsildar during the arguments. ”Will you take action blindly if Tehsildar asks? If he says, will you demolish Charminar and High Court also? What is the urgent need to demolish if not to vacate?” High Court asked and cautioned them not do illegal work to satisfy political bosses and to please superiors.
Recalling that a dying person will also be asked for his last wish, the Judge asked don’t you know that demolitions on Sunday are against the High Court’s ruling? If the officials work illegally, it warns that they will be sent home and warned to be careful. It cautioned that do not work illegally to please the superiors.
In the name of protecting government property, the Court deplored that innocent people are being put in trouble. The judge asked HYDRA Commissioner Ranganath whether he knew that the demolitions on Sunday were against the High Court verdict? The Court became impatient when Ranganath said that they are acting on the request of MRO.
The Judge warned that they have to give stay on demolitions, if the HYDRA goes ahead in this way. When Ranganath told the judge that he respects the courts a lot, the judge revealed that 20 lunch motion petitions have been filed against Moosi as well.
