BRs senior MLA Harish Rao has strongly condemned the arrest of Allu Arjun, a recipient of the National Best Actor Award. Taking to social media, Harish Rao raised a series of questions against the government, seeking accountability.
He questioned, “Who permitted the benefit shows in the first place? Who allowed the screening of movies without implementing preventive measures?”
Harish Rao highlighted the tragic incident where a woman named Revathi lost her life in a cinema stampede, calling it an unfortunate event. However, he accused the state’s leadership of being responsible for such incidents, calling for action against the Congress government.
In a critical statement, Harish Rao referred to the suicide of Sai Reddy, the former Sarpanch of Kondareddipalli, who allegedly took his life due to harassment by Revanth Reddy’s brothers. He asked why the Revanth brothers had not been arrested in connection with this incident.
Further, he pointed out the case of Surender Reddy, a farmer who committed suicide near the Medchal agriculture office. Surender’s death stemmed from an inability to secure a loan waiver due to ration card-related issues. Harish Rao questioned why Revanth Reddy was not arrested for being accountable in Surender’s case and demanded that if arrests were warranted, the brothers should be apprehended first.
Harish Rao also raised broader issues, asking, “Who should be arrested for the loss of farmers’ lives during a year of governance? Who is responsible for the incident where 49 students lost their lives due food poisoning? When lives were displaced in Lagacherla’s Pharma City project, who should be held accountable?”
In conclusion, Harish Rao urged that the law should take appropriate action not only in the case of Allu Arjun but also in addressing the alleged issues surrounding Revanth Reddy and his brothers. He emphasized that no individual should be exempt from the reach of the law.
