Granthi Vishwanath Proposes Flexible Ticket Rates to Pawan Kalyan

The Telugu film industry is grappling with challenges, not just from OTT platforms but also in terms of movie ticket pricing. Granthi Vishwanath, former president of the Andhra Pradesh Film Chamber and MD of Poorna Pictures, has urged Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan to introduce a flexible ticket pricing system to breathe new life into the industry, especially for small-budget films. The appeal was made during their meeting on Tuesday evening, where Vishwanath presented a special centenary souvenir of Poorna Pictures to Pawan Kalyan.
Vishwanath expressed, “It’s not just OTT platforms causing issues, but high ticket prices are also making it difficult for audiences. The belief that ticket prices are beyond their reach is driving lower-income groups away from theaters. To keep the film industry alive, a flexible pricing strategy needs to be adopted, as it is in other states like Telangana, Maharashtra, and Karnataka. By introducing minimum and maximum ticket rates, prices can be adjusted depending on the scale of the film, which would benefit small-budget movies significantly. This move could also encourage moviegoers to return to theaters, bringing success to both small and big films.”
Pawan Kalyan, responding positively, promised to take these suggestions to the Honorable Chief Minister.
