Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan has expressed her disapproval of the statements made by the former BRS candidate, Kaushik Reddy, during the assembly election campaign and has urged the Election Commission to take appropriate action against him. The Governor, along with CEO Vikas Raj, served as a chief guest at the National Voters’ Day celebrations held at JNTU in Hyderabad. During the event, Governor Tamilisai specifically referenced Kaushik Reddy’s remarks made during the elections.
Addressing the audience, she stated, “A candidate declared that he would resort to self-harm if not elected in the elections. The Election Commission must intervene in such cases. Threats or intimidation against voters are unacceptable. Voting is the most potent tool, and for democracy to thrive, active participation is essential. By electing a capable candidate, voters contribute to good governance. Every citizen should exercise their right to vote.”
