Story :
Ayaan, also known as Satya, and his close friend Seenu, a struggling director, find themselves facing countless obstacles in their quest to make a movie. Just as they are about to give up, fate intervenes in the form of a phone call from Vishnu, a businessman based in Ooty. Vishnu offers to produce their film and insists they shoot it in his haunted palace, Sangeeth Mahal.
With the promise of funding, Ayaan and Seenu agree to the unconventional arrangement. They cast Anjali, a local coffee shop owner, as their lead actress. However, as filming progresses within the eerie confines of Sangeeth Mahal, they encounter inexplicable occurrences that defy explanation.
As tensions rise and the mysteries of the palace deepen, the true nature of Vishnu’s intentions comes into question. Who is Vishnu, and what secrets does Sangeeth Mahal hold? And what connection does Geethanjali, perhaps a spectral presence in the palace, have to the unfolding story?
Review:
“Geethanjali Malli Vachindi” struggled to live up to the successful blend of horror and comedy that its predecessor achieved. The feeble narrative and uninspired screenplay seem to have let down the potential of the film. It’s unfortunate that the comedic sequences fell flat and failed to engage the audience, especially considering the talents of Srinivas Reddy, Shakalaka Shankar, and Satyam Rajesh.
However, it’s interesting to note that the film managed to capture attention with a surprising turn of events at the interval. The revelation about why Srinivas Reddy and his team were chosen to direct the film adds intrigue, although it seems the real enjoyment came from the comedic filming sequences within the Mahal.
The deviation from the enjoyable drama towards the climax, with a revenge subplot and flashback narratives, appears to have weakened the overall impact of the film. It’s a shame that even the songs failed to make a mark.
“Geethanjali Malli Vachindhi” succeeds more as a comedy than as a horror film, with strong performances from Satya and Sunil contributing to its comedic appeal. However, the film’s inability to deliver effective scares, coupled with its routine plot, underdeveloped characters, and lackluster climax, diminish its overall impact. Given these weaknesses, it might be wise to consider other entertainment options if seeking a more satisfying viewing experience.
