Gannavaram is in full heat as TDP protests against police

Saturday, November 16, 2024

The town of Gannavaram had witnessed a huge ruckus as the leaders of TDP and YSRCP clashed with each other which resulted in the destruction of TDP’s office. Even after a day, tensions still prevail in the constituency with the Police imposing many restrictions.

According to the inside sources of the TDP, as many as 16 members from the opposite camp of YSRCP have attacked the TDP party office and they completely destroyed along with their cars. Responding to the attack, leaders like Pattabhi and others who retaliated were arrested by the Police and several cases were booked including attempted murder. Today the TDP has staged a protest responding to the destruction of their party office under the name ‘Chalo Gannavaram’ in front of the DGP office. They blame the ex-TDP and now YSRCP leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi for the riots but the latter in turn claim that it was TDP who brought non-locals to the town.

Meanwhile, the TDP national head Chandrababu Naidu condemned this entire episode and declared that Police are acting like YSRCP cadres by arresting the victims rather than the culprits. He wrote a letter to the DGP asking him to punish the YSRCP activists who made these riots and destroyed his party office or else he would go to any extent to fight for justice. CBN demanded the safety of TDP leaders Pattabhi and other leaders who were detained at Machilipatnam PS.
