Former minister and YCP leader Kakani Govardhan Reddy alleging severe irregularities in liquor tenders called by Chandrababu Naidu government, accuses that 90 percent of the allocation of wine shops went to TDP leaders. He said that the lottery process continued in the eyes of the MLAs and it went on as per a plan.
He criticized that all the rules were confined to papers and even the collectors were also unable to do anything. He lamented that the entire yellow syndicate is a scam in wine shops. He alleged that the syndicate rule is already continuing in the state in sand, granite, education and medicine.
Kakani alleged that the liquor policy was formulated only to improve the financial sources of the yellow batch. Now after allotment of wine shops the same has become clear, he said. He said that Chief MInister Chandrababu is implementing a three-tier system of exploitation in the allotment of liquor shops.
The former minister alleged that the Chief Minister at the state level, MLAs at the constituency level and the lower level leaders at the village level aimed to rob the belt shops. That’s why in the draw of the wine shops, he said, where they should be is not announced.
He said that the leaders will decide the selling hours along with the rates of liquor from now on. He said that in the previous YCP government, every rupee earned by liquor went to the government coffers. But now under the rule of the coalition parties, he alleged that the liquor syndicates will share that income.
He said that the Chandrababu Naidu-led coalition government will continue only for another three years, as elections are certain in 2027 as part of simultaneous elections proposed by the Narendra Modi-led government.
That is why, he advised the government officials to work independently and not to bow down to the aspirations of the ruling party leaders. He warned that if the officials acted partially listening to the wishes of TDP leaders, they would have to face troubles later.
