The AP government has formed an organizing committee with five ministers in the wake of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit. Prime Minister Modi will visit Visakhapatnam on June 21 to participate in International Yoga Day. The five ministers, includes the ministers of Home, Health, Tourism, Social Welfare and Human Resource.
Special Chief Secretary to the government MT Krishna Babu will act as the convener of the committee. The AP government is going to organize this program with great prestige so as to create a global record. The Chandrababu Naidu government is determined to organize the 11th International Yoga Day to be held in Visakhapatnam in a record-breaking manner.
PM Modi is participating in the Yoga Day program from AP on June 21, in the wake of completing 10 years since the announcement of Yoga Day. He himself has already announced while participating at a program in Amaravati, earlier this month. In this context, it should be undertaken in a way that goes down in history.
CM Chandrababu held a review with officials at the camp office on Friday on the organization of Yoga Day. “This year’s Yoga Day theme is ‘Yoga for One Earth… One Health’. The program organized on Yoga Day should mark the beginning of yoga practice in the state. At least two crore people should join this program”, he said.
“A campaign should be launched in the state with the theme ‘Yogandhra-2025’. ‘Yoga Month’ should be observed from the 21st of this month to June 21st. Those who complete the month-long training should be recognized and given certificates. School and college students in the state should be made participants in this program,” he added.
“We are making arrangements for people to perform yoga asanas everywhere from RK Beach to Bheemili Beach. We are making arrangements for about 2.5 lakh people to participate in yoga. We have identified 68 areas for yoga. We are providing an opportunity for 2,58,948 people to practice yoga in those areas,” the officials explained.
CM Chandrababu has suggested inviting people in all suitable areas along the beach, from RK Beach to Srikakulam and organizing the program with five lakh people.
