First list of BJP Lok Sabha candidates released- Live

On Saturday evening, the BJP’s central leadership unveiled its inaugural list of candidates for 195 Lok Sabha seats ahead of the upcoming elections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to contest from Varanasi once more. Notably, the list includes candidates for 9 seats in Telangana. The BJP’s first list comprises 47 youth, 28 women, 27 SCs, 18 STs, and 57 OBCs, along with two former chief ministers. Additionally, candidates for 11 out of 14 Lok Sabha seats in Assam have been announced, including Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, who will contest from Dibrugarh.

The finalized list encompasses 20 seats each from West Bengal, 24 from Madhya Pradesh, 15 from Gujarat, 15 from Rajasthan, 12 from Kerala, nine from Telangana, eleven each from Assam, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh, and five from Delhi. Notable candidates include Kiren Rijiju from Arunachal Pradesh, Manoj Tiwari from North Delhi, Suresh Gopi from Thrissur, Amit Shah from Gandhi Nagar, and Shivraj Singh Chouhan from Vidisha. Additionally, Telangana will see Kishan Reddy, Bandi Sanjay, and Dharmapuri Aravind among the nine candidates fielded by the party.
