Even after the coalition government comes to power in AP, YSRCP is said to be continuing its hold over some key government departments. Officials who worked in key departments in the previous YSRCP government in the state are still there and they are extending their loyal services to their former bosses.
At such a time, a key development has taken place in the finance department. It seems that Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav has expressed his anger at the officials who were responsible for this. The previous YSRCP government built a huge building for CM Jaganmohan Reddy at Rushikonda in Visakhapatnam as part of the formation of three capitals, violating environmental norms.
CM Chandrababu Naidu, ministers and MLAs, who have already inspected this luxurious building several times, have still not been able to decide what to do with it. At such a time, it seems that officials in the finance department have paid pending bills to the contractors who built this building in the past.
It seems that some officials have paid the bills of contractors related to Rushikonda Palace without the orders or knowledge of Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav. It is reported that Finance Minister Payyavula fired on the officials concerned after the matter was finally revealed late.
Payyavula lashed out at the senior officials of the Finance Department for why the bills were paid to the Rushikonda Palace contractor? The Minister asked for an explanation as to why the bills were paid to the contractor? However, the officials justifying their act have reportedly informed the Finance Minister that the bills for the construction work of Rushikonda Palace were not paid, but some other bills were paid.
It seems that the officials explained that the bills were paid for other works undertaken by the same company. The Finance Minister expressed dissatisfaction as to why payments had to be made to that contractor, even if they were different bills, as the government is looking into the entire episode.
Minister Payyavula wondered if the bills were paid ignoring his earlier instructions to them. He asked that a report be submitted detailing the payments made to that contractor and the works for which bills were paid. He warned that if he did this again, there would be serious consequences.
