‘Family Star’ marks the second time collaboration of actor Vijay Devarakonda and director Parasuram Petla. As the duo previously delivered a blockbuster in the form of Geetha Govindham, there are strong expectations for Family Star in trade circles and also among moviegoers. Ace producer Dil Raju initially announced that the film would hit the screens for Sankranti.
The latest development is that Family Star is likely to move out of the Sankranti race because of the delay in the shooting formalities. It is now confirmed that the film will release in early Summer next year.
Though Dil Raju was very particular about releasing Family Star for Sankranti to take advantage of the festival season, he was unable to make it possible because of the director’s condition.
Going into the details, a considerable portion of Family Star was to be shot in the USA. Director Parasuram informed both Vijay Devarakonda and Dil Raju at the time of narration that he would need to shoot important scenes in USA for nearly a month. Accordingly, the team was supposed to fly to USA in November. However, their plans didn’t materialize due to Visa issues.
So, Dil Raju came up with an alternative and suggested Bangkok in place of USA to complete the shooting portion on time so that the film would be released for Sankranti. However, Parasuram didn’t accede to Dil Raju’s proposal. He was hell-bent on shooting the important episodes in USA only so that the output would not be compromised. He refused to shoot in Bangkok even after all arrangements were made by the production house.
As a result, Dil Raju has no other option but to postpone the release date because there is still an adequate amount of shooting left to be completed.
Family Star features Mrunal Thakur as the female lead. The first look teaser received a decent response.
