The craze for the Balayya – Boyapati combination stands apart because of the strong impact it created at the box office. It is well known that the duo delivered a hat-trick of blockbusters with Simha, Legend and Akhanda. One of the reasons why this combination always draws the attention of trade circles is because it lived up to the high expectations on all three occasions.
During many recent media interactions, Boyapati revealed that he is planning to do a sequel to Akhanda with Balakrishna. He asserted that the project will hit the floors very soon. But the disappointing result of Ram’s Skanda is likely to put his plans in jeopardy.
Boyapati was initially committed to working with Allu Arjun and Suriya for his next projects. But, the chances for both these films to materialize appear very slim at this moment because Allu Arjun is currently busy with Pushpa 2 and he might work with Trivikram and Sandeep Reddy Vanga for his future projects. Suriya is also occupied with a spate of big-budget films. Moreover, the box office outcome of Skanda will also have some impact on these projects for sure.
So, Boyapati has no other option but to approach Balakrishna again. If Balakrishna wishes, he can quickly complete Akhanda 2 before assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh. But, it seems like he is also not interested in working with Boyapati now.
Having recently received plaudits for accepting a subject like Bhagavanth Kesari, Balakrishna feels that immediately working on Boyapati’s mass film won’t be an ideal choice for his image. Hence, he decided to put Boyapati aside and work with director Bobby for his next project.
Hence, Boyapati Srinu might need to convince some other hero for his next project as Allu Arjun, Suriya and Balayya are not ready to team up with him in the near future.
