The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches at the residence of Patancheru MLA and BRS leader Mahipal Reddy in Sangareddy district. Simultaneous searches were also carried out at the residence of his brother, Gudem Madhusudhan Reddy, starting early in the morning.
The two brothers are involved in the real estate and mining businesses. Previously, Gudem Madhu was arrested in connection with the Lagdaram mining case, which is reportedly the basis for the current ED searches.
The ED is conducting searches at three locations in Patancheru, including the residences of their relatives in Nizampet. Recently, there were reports suggesting that Mahipal Reddy was planning to join the Congress, which has now become a topic of discussion in the constituency amid the ED raids.
