EC Raps Naidu And Jagan For Crossing The Line

The Election Commission of India expressed displeasure over the comments made by the leaders of the leading political parties in Andhra Pradesh during their election campaigns in the run-up to the much-anticipated polls on May 13th. The ECI found fault with the derogatory language that is being used by both Jagan Mohan Reddy and Chandra Babu Naidu during their public speeches ever since the model code of conduct came into force.

As per the latest reports, the apex poll body issued notices to the party presidents of both the YSRCP and TDP for their abusive remarks toward one another during their high-decibel political campaigns. The commission pointed out that the language used by these leaders is not in consonance with the acceptable norms of behavior during the poll season.

The Chief Secretary of ECI, Avinash Kumar, issued notices to both Naidu and Jagan over their unpalatable remarks during their campaigns and warned them not to cross the line. The commission also pointed out that the leaders haven’t mended their ways despite a similar warning earlier for making abusive remarks about one another.

TDP president and opposition leader Chandra Babu Naidu frequently refers to Jagan as a psycho during his speeches. Jagan often calls Naidu a sadist. The ECI asked both leaders to refrain from using such words while addressing in public, as the code of conduct is in place.
