Chandrababu Naidu government has decided to provide a loan of Rs 5 lakh for each woman in thrift societies so that to facilitate their sound livelihood. This loan will be in addition to group loans being provided by banks. Chief Minister is making moves in accordance with his assurances to Dwcra women during the election campaign.
State government has discussed with bankers to provide a loan of Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh for each woman for already established units or proposed new units. In each Dwcra group at a time three women will be provided this loan facility.
For the financial year 2024-25, SERP officials have set a target of providing personal loans to 1.5 lakh Dwcra women across the state to the extent of Rs.2,000 crores. Of these, 1.35 lakh people are expected to be given Rs. 5 lakh loans and 15,00 people of each Rs 1 lakh loan. The government is also planning to increase the loan to Rs.10 lakh in the future in accordance with the interest of the beneficiaries and the cost of setting up the unit across the state.
Another important decision has been taken by the state government to bring more benefits to Dwcra women in the state. Central schemes such as PMFME (Prime Minister’s Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises Scheme) and PMEGP (Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme) will be linked to this.
Moreover, a 35 percent discount on the bank loan taken is also applicable for those who have selected livelihood arrangements under this scheme. That means if you take a loan of Rs. 1 lakh, you will be exempted under the concession of Rs.35,000 and they need to repay the remaining loan amount in monthly installments.
The units that can be set up for Rs.1 lakh to Rs.5 lakh, where the government is applying a 35% subsidy: Chilli powder, Turmeric, Masala powder packing units can be set up. Also bakery, sweet shop, ice cream honey making, appadalu making, vegetable solar dryer, meal (buffet) plates making, DJ sound system, dairy, poultry, pickle making and packing units can be set up.
