‘Dunki’ performs better than ‘Salaar’ in North America

The total worldwide gross of Prabhas starrer ‘Salaar: Part 1 Cease Fire’ is way ahead of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’. Trade circles have already declared Prabhas as the box office winner of this epic clash as he gained the upper hand over Shah Rukh in most of the territories. While Salaar grossed more than 600 crores, Dunki managed to gross only 400 crores.

However, there is one territory where Dunki seems to be performing better than Salaar. That is North America. Though Salaar grossed close to $ 8.8 M and Dunki notched up $ 8.3 M by the end of the third weekend, it should be noted that the ticket pricing for both films is not the same.

While Dunki ticket was priced at $ 12, Salaar was priced higher at $ 20. So, it is clear that the footfalls of Dunki are much higher than Salaar. Moreover, Dunki is still minting impressive numbers during the weekends. To be precise, Dunki collected double the gross of Salaar in the third weekend.

On last Friday and Saturday, Dunki collected more than $ 100K and $ 150K. Whereas Salaar struggled to collect $ 50K. It won’t not be a surprise if Dunki slowly catches up with Salaar by the end of the full run as the deficit is very around $ 500K.

Salaar took a staggering start with $ 3.8M from its opening day including premieres. However, it slowed down after a good weekend followed by impressive Christmas holidays. The Prashanth Neel directional secured positive reviews.

On the other side, Dunki performed consistently and grossed decent numbers with a lower ticket price and below par reviews. So, Dunki performed better than Salaar.
