Malayalam heartthrob Dulquer Salmaan stole the hearts of Telugu audience with his mesmerizing performance as lover boy Ram in Hanu Raghavapudi’s cult classic ‘Sita Ramam’. Though he played a brief role in Mahanti, it was his impressive acting in Sita Ramam that brought him numerous laurels in Tollywood.
As Sita Ramam emerged as a blockbuster and made him a hot favourite among youth, he is looking to expand his stardom further. His next outing ‘King of Kotha’ is set for release in multiple languages very soon. The hard-hitting trailer has received a thumping response. Meanwhile, the Bangalore Days actor announced two films on his birthday this Friday.
He will first team up with sensible filmmaker Venky Atluri, who scored hits with Tholi Prema and Sir, for an interesting drama titled Lucky Bhaskar. The first-look poster has Dulquer cocooned with hundred rupee notes. It is evident from his smile that money puts him in a happy space. In this captivating drama, Dulquer plays an ordinary man who reaches dizzy heights. Sitara Entertainment banner will pool resources for this film.
Besides this project, Dulquer will join forces with Rana Daggubati for an intriguing film which is titled Kaantha. The first-look poster draws the instant attention of moviegoers because of the stunning backdrop. We can see the rear side of a man, presumably Dulquer, standing in a dark room with a huge chandelier that illuminates brightly to put focus on him. Selvamani Selvaraj will direct this multilingual under Rana’s Spirit Media production.
Both these posters garnered good responses from all quarters. It seems like Dulquer is on a signing spree and wants to increase his popularity beyond South India.
