Hyderabad: As part of the five-day annual Southern Sojourn, President Droupadi Murmu arrived in the city on Monday evening. Welcomed at Begumpet airport by Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, Chief Minister A Reventh Reddy, and top government and police officials, the President will be staying at Rashtrapati Nilayam in Bollaram, Secunderabad. Earlier on the same day, she attended the 69th convocation of IIT Kharagpur in West Bengal before arriving at Rashtrapati Nilayam.
On Tuesday, President Murmu is scheduled to participate in the centenary celebrations of the Hyderabad Public School Society. Additionally, she plans to visit the handloom and spinning unit as well as the theme pavilion of the Ministry of Textiles at Pochampally on December 20, where she will interact with weavers.
The President will also attend the golden jubilee celebrations of MNR Educational Trust in Secunderabad on the same day. On December 21, President Murmu is set to inaugurate various projects at Rashtrapati Nilayam, followed by hosting an ‘At Home’ reception for dignitaries, including leading citizens and academics, on December 22.
