Dhanush, celebrated for his versatile performances and solid script selection, is back with another promising project. Titled D54 for now, this upcoming film marks an exciting collaboration with Por Thozhil director Vignesh Raja, raising expectations among cinephiles.
The makers kickstarted the shoot today by unveiling a powerful first look poster. The image shows Dhanush in a burnt cotton field, behind him are colourful flames rising dramatically. The image of Dhanush in this haunting way is evocative and speaks to a story filled with feeling, heat and perhaps a poignant socio-political narrative.
Joining the film as the female lead is Mamitha Baiju, fresh off the success of the Malayalam smash, Premalu. Mamitha’s inclusion brings a nice freshness and intrigue to the cast. The film will feature music by GV Prakash Kumar, a composer with a long and successful working history with Dhanush, so we can surely expect a strong musical component.
D54 is being produced by Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh under the Vels Film International banner and in partnership with Think Studios. With shooting now confirmed to be in progress, fans of the project can expect a strong and-coherent spectacle that pushes the envelope of visual storytelling in the Tamil film industry and unites evocative visuals, choreography, and music together.
