CRDA officials till now dance to the tunes of Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy in demolishing Amaravati as capital of the newly formed state and keeping blind eye to whatever damage is being done to the capital site. But a sudden change is seen among them due to speculation over the change of government in the state on June 4.
Officials who were ignoring movement of key materials from the Amaravati site, suddenly woke up on Thursday and brought back goods sold to traders by L&T Company from the storage center in Mandadam. CRDA Commissioner Vivek Yadav, who is now in West Bengal on election duties and known as a confidant of CM Jagan’s regime, probably for the first time realised his fate if a change in the government.
It seems that the CRDA officials are alarmed by the signs that Amaravati will get its former glory if the alliance comes to power. From Bengal only Vivek Yadav ordered against L&T diversion of materials and brought them back.
The same CRDA officials were silent all these years even though the roads are being dug in the capital. No effort was made to stop the taking of soil from the plots allotted to the farmers. Even though iron materials are being stolen from the structures, the sin of complaining has not gone away.
At Uddandarayunipalem, where the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone, the Amaravati Plan prototypes were destroyed, but there was no fuss. They pretended that it was irrelevant that the monopolist company was taking hold of the huge drinking water pipes to be laid along the seed access road in the capital without permission.
But, now they seem to be alarmed with the widespread speculation over the possibility of a change in the government in the state and Chandrababu Naidu is likely to be the next Chief Minister.
As a result, the officials in CRDA who have been stuck with the ruling YSRCP till now are looking for ways to get out of here. In many decisions taken by the government against the farmers, they acted as a hindrance. It is known that they are worried that they will face difficulties if the alliance comes.
