The ACB Court on Friday has said its recent verdict on the CID’s case on the Opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu’s Undavalli guest house. It has asked the AP-CID to go ahead and attach the house and send legal notices to the ex-CM.
The AP Government which launched a probe into CBN’s residence in Undavalli earlier has reached a new stage. In its latest investigation, the CID found out that the guest house CBN has been residing in since 2015 in Undavalli was actually gifted by a businessman Lingamaneni Ramesh as he got indirect favors from the then TDP government. In its argument in the court, CID alleged that TDP Government under CBN’s direction exempted lands polled for the construction of the inner ring road in Amaravati so that he can have his own lands. Not stopping there, the CID officials claimed that TDP also left the Lingamaneni family’s fields while they were pooling lands of farmers in 29 villages around to construct the capital. Deeply touched by such help, Ramesh gifted the guest house to CBN in 2014 as the land still belongs to the businessman.
Earlier the AP Government passed a GO to officially attach the guest house and now the Court has also given permission. However, the court also asked to send legal notices to both Naidu and Ramesh before attaching them to see how they respond and file a counter. As of now, the Guest house in Undavalli is still occupied by Naidu, contrary to Jagan Sarkar’s efforts to make him vacate it as soon as possible.
