Congress high-command till recently gave a free hand to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in all party and government affairs. Despite The party’s debacle in recent Lok Sabha polls and growing discontent among ministers, the party is said to be determined to check his unilateral decisions.
That’s why awarding nomination posts, expansion of the state cabinet and reviving the Pradesh Congress Committee got delayed. Revanth Reddy announced the chairmen for 37 nominated posts exactly one day before the release of the schedule of the Parliament elections.
As the election schedule was released the very next day, it was revealed that orders would be issued to the nominated posts after the end of the code. Three weeks have passed since the expiry of the Election Code, but no orders have been issued for the nominated posts.
However, despite being in power in the state, it has not achieved the expected results in the parliamentary elections, so it is known that the party high-command is re-reviewing this list. According to party sources, party state affairs in-charge Deepadas Munshi has prevented orders from being issued to the announced nominated posts.
According to these sources, the latest opinion of the administration is that nominated posts should be filled based on the results of the Parliament elections and not on the recommendation of Revanth Reddy.
It is learned that the list of 15-20 nominated posts along with the 37 posts announced earlier has been worked out with Dipadas Munshi. It is reported that the party high-command has ordered to finalize the latest list together with the party observer rather than assigning the responsibility of selection to the nominated posts to Revanth Reddy alone.
Party sources predict that the leadership is going to show its mark in the expansion of the cabinet and the selection of the PCC president. According to party sources, while CM Revanth plans to expand the cabinet and select a new PCC president without compromising his dominance over the party and the government, party high-command is intended to show his mark in the expansion of the cabinet and the selection of the PCC president keeping in mind the future of the party and the government.
