Congress Fielding Narender Reddy In Graduate MLC polls

Saturday, March 8, 2025

The Congress has finalized the candidate for the Medak- Adilabad-Nizamabad- Karimnagar Graduate constituency in MLC polls and decided to field Narender Reddy, the head of Allforce Educational Institutions. Minister D. Sridhar Babu expressed confidence that Congress will get back this constituency.

In the previous election senior Congress leader and former minister Jeevan Reddy had been elected from here. However, as this time he is said to be declined to contest in the polls, the party high-command has selected Narender Reddy. Though Velicharla Rajender Rao, who had contested in the Lok Sabha elections last year from Karimanagar as Congress candidate, was also considered, finally the party leadership chose Narender Reddy.

The Congress party took the Graduate MLC election with great prestige. As soon as the Election Commission announced the poll schedule, Telangana Congress felt this would be crucial for the party to streamline the party’s victory in the last assembly elections. This will be a prestigious contest even for the ministers and MLAs of the Congress party from these districts.

The BJP took a step forward and announced the names of both graduates and teachers MLC candidates on January 10, well before the schedule of the poll was announced. In the Congress, however, there is a deadlock over whether sitting candidate Jeevan Reddy will contest or not.

After Jeevan Reddy made it clear to the high command that he would not contest, Narender Reddy’s name was finalized by the party leadership. Congress Party sources said that the PCC had sent the names of Narender Reddy and Velichala Rajender Rao to the AICC for the graduates’ seat.

Although the ministers and MLAs from the joint district were clear about who would get the ticket, efforts were made internally to convince the other aspirants without revealing it publicly. The AICC has finalized Narender Reddy, who has already completed his campaign in 42 Assembly and 6 Lok Sabha seats in the graduate constituency.

In 1991, Narender Reddy started his life with a tuition center in a small room in MankammaThota, Karimnagar. He used to teach students in his own style from 5 am to 9 pm every day. He earned a good name by working hard to ensure that many students reach a high level.

Starting with Allforce Academy, he is currently running 54 educational institutions in Telangana and Maharashtra. In 2018, he took the primary membership of the Congress party in the presence of Rahul Gandhi. At that time, he expected a Karimnagar Assembly ticket, but it was not possible due to political issues.

Although he was given a chance for the Karimnagar Lok Sabha seat in 2024, he did not show interest. His followers are expressing joy after he was recently confirmed as the MLC candidate for the combined Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Graduates’ Constituency.
