Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is known for conducting pro-long review meetings with officials, ministers and even party leaders. He is also attributed to be indecisive as he avoids taking decisions immediately. During his previous tenure as Chief Minister, he held Collector’s conferences for two days. But, this time he has given hints on the very first day of his taking charge that there will be no more pro-longed reviews, but focus will be on governance. Officials are witnessing a complete change in his working style. His review meetings also remained very brief, but focused on issues. Likewise, the first collector’s conference he is holding on Monday is also confined to one day.
Instructions were given to officials that there should not be more than three to four slides by each department in the conference. Chandrababu is moving forward with a special style in governance and attempting for speedy decision making, unlike reviews till mid-night earlier.
Chandrababu is completing the reviews within the stipulated time. Decisions are announced to solve the problem directly. He prefers to meet as many people as possible to get sound feed-back on the ground-level realities. For the first time, he announced a list of TDP candidates well in advance in recent polls.
Reviews and meetings with government officials were canceled on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, he is going to the TDP office and interacting with the public. In the TDP office a sound grievances system was formulated, where every day one minister and one senior party leader will be available to receive representations.
Chandrababu now prefering to meet people and solve their problems through various programs including distribution of pensions. Financial assistance is being granted immediately. The Chief Minister is giving time to the Ministers and MLAs and taking their opinions.
“There is no going back except to increase the speed. You will see the Chief Minister of 1995. History should be remembered. I will not leave anyone behind. Ministers, MLAs, All officers should keep this in mind.” – Chandrababu said.
