Days after Chief Minister Revanth Reddy handed over a probe into irregularities in the construction of Kaleshwaram Project during the previous KCR regime, has now reportedly decided to hand over the phone tapping case also to the CBI. The government has already formed an SIT on this matter. As part of this investigation, the SIT officials have collected key evidence.
In that process, many people have also been questioned. It is known that important evidence has been collected as part of it. On the other hand, it is known that the Revanth government has already handed over the Kaleshwaram project case, built at a cost of lakhs of crores of rupees, to the CBI.
In the 2023 assembly elections, the Telangana voter has given the crown to the Congress party. With this, the Congress party has reached its peak under the leadership of Revanth Reddy. However, during the previous KCR government, it was found that not only the key leaders of the opposition parties, but also the phones of many leaders of the own party were also tapped.
With this, the Revanth government has formed an SIT on this matter. Key things have come to light in the SIT investigation. Moreover, it is known that many senior police officers have also been arrested in this phone tapping case. It seems that the Revanth government is planning to hand over this case to the CBI as well.
On the other hand, the BRS government built the Kaleshwaram project at a cost of over Rs 1 lakh of crores. A few days before the elections, the pillars of the Medigadda Barrage buckled. Due to this, the then opposition parties criticized the BRS government. As a result, the then PCC chief Revanth Reddy assured the people that they would conduct an investigation into this matter if they came to power.
The Congress party won the most seats in the elections that followed. After the formation of the Revanth Reddy government, Justice PC Ghosh Commission was formed on Kaleshwaram. After almost 13 months of investigation, this commission submitted its report to the government. After discussing this report in the cabinet and also in the assembly, a resolution was passed to hand over the case for the CBI.
