Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has given a warning to the Telangana government over politicisation of water disputes. Babu warned in his own style that it is not right to do politics on sensitive issues. It is known that there is currently a dispute between the two Telugu states regarding Krishna waters. A war of words has been going on between the ruling and opposition leaders in Telangana for the past few days regarding Krishna waters.
The BRS leaders are criticizing that AP is diverting Telangana’s share of waters and accusing that the Revanth Reddy government is not questioning the Chandrababu government on this issue. In this context, responding to the criticisms made by some Telangana leaders on Krishna waters, CM Chandrababu warned that it is not right to do politics on sensitive water issues.
He recalled that he had built many irrigation projects in Telangana when he was the Chief Minister of the combined state in the past. He explained that he had designed many projects, including Bheema and Dewadula. Chandrababu asserted that the AP government is only trying to use the water that was going to the sea unnecessarily.
CM Chandrababu suggested that both Telangana and AP should use Godavari waters. Chandrababu, who felt that there was some problem with Krishna waters, made it clear that AP would use its share of the water allocated to both states. He recalled that AP is a state at the end of the road and is using water that is wasted in the sea. He warned that politics is not right in such sensitive issues.
However, Telangana leaders are arguing that AP is transferring water from Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar beyond the limit. They are asking the Modi government to intervene in this issue and put a stop to water theft. Some Telangana ministers are also accusing that AP has been using more than 1200 TMC of water in the last ten years. In this context, CM Chandrababu Naidu gave a gentle warning to Telangana leaders.
