Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu toured the flood-affected areas throughout the night and continued to monitor the relief efforts personally till 4 am. The CM visited the flood-affected areas till 4 in the morning. After resting for just two hours, he returned to the field.
Chandrababu reviewed how far the food and boats have reached. Power boats from other states are reaching Vijayawada. First, he conducted a review on the current situation and assistance in the Singh Nagar area. He toured the various flood affected areas in the district till 4 o’clock in the morning.
Last night he visited the victims directly from house to house. From 10.40 pm last night to 4.19 am today, the Chief Minister was under flood water. He first visited Vijayawada Singh Nagar, then Ibrahimpatnam and Mulapadu. From there he directly reached Vijayawada Krishna Lanka.
As the barrage flood reached 11 lakhs, the people there were encouraged. Rested for two hours in the morning at the Collectorate. Chandrababu requested that no officials come with him and everyone should participate in flood relief operations.
He said that floods have occurred like never before in the state and this situation is due to untimely rains and flood water coming from above. He said that this type of flood occurred in 1998. It was explained that if at that time 9.24 lakh cusecs were received, now 9.70 lakh cusecs have been received.
He said that we are facing this disaster efficiently. He said that 16 divisions were submerged due to the bursting of Budameru river. Akshaya Patra said that they have contacted the hotel owners to prepare food for those trapped in the water.
Chief Minister said that all wedding halls and hotels in Vijayawada have been made available and will be arranged if necessary. He said that a senior IAS officer will be appointed for each division and a junior IAS officer for the secretariat to improve the situation in Singh Nagar. He said that there are 2,76,145 people in this area.
Command control numbers 112 and 107 have been set up to help the victims. He announced that permanent measures will be taken to prevent such calamities from occurring in the future. He assured that justice will be done to all the victims. Chandrababu said that he will stay in the district collector’s office and take necessary action until the situation returns to normal.
