Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has set a new record in the political arena completing 30 years as president of the Telugu Desam Party and is about to re-elect again unanimously at Kadapa Mahanadu.
He has been the party president for three decades. He was first elected as the TDP president in 1995. Since then, he has been the party president. He has faced many ups and downs during his 30-year tenure as the party president. In the combined Andhra Pradesh, the Telugu Desam Party lost power in 2004 and 2009.
In 2014, the people of Andhra Pradesh voted him to power with faith in party leader Chandrababu. In 2019, the TDP once again lost power. But in the 2024 assembly elections, the people of the state gave a landslide victory to the alliance partners, unprecedented in the history of Andhra Pradesh.
With this, Chandrababu once again took charge as the CM of Andhra Pradesh. However, the combined Andhra Pradesh was bifurcated in 2014. Since then, Nara Chandrababu Naidu has continued as the national president of TDP. It is well known that the election of the TDP president is held every two years.
And especially, these are not all the humiliations faced by TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu during the YSRCP government. On September 8, 2023, the opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu, who was on a Nandyal tour, was detained by the CID police in the AP Skill Development case at midnight.
He was later shifted to Vijayawada, produced in the ACB court. With this, the ACB court remanded him for 14 days. With this, he was shifted to Rajahmundry Central Jail and he was in the same jail for almost 52 days. After that, he was granted interim bail. Also, top leaders of YSRCP made harsh comments against Chandrababu and his family.
However, CM Chandrababu and his son Nara Lokesh, without criticizing anyone personally, criticized the stance being taken by the Jaganmohan Reddy government. With this, the people gave their verdict in the 2024 assembly elections in their own style. With this, the coalition government led by Chandrababu was formed in Andhra Pradesh.
