The Andhra Pradesh government has begun distributing pensions a day ahead of schedule, with the NTR Bharosa pension program underway across the state. The government has released Rs. 2,717 crores for 63,77,943 beneficiaries, and by this morning, 90% of the pensions had already been distributed.
Chief Minister Chandrababu personally visited beneficiaries in Palnadu district’s Yelamanda. During his visit, he handed over pensions to families, including that of Sharamma, a widow whose husband passed away during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. After discussing her family’s situation, the Chief Minister recommended that her daughter receive NEET coaching and directed officials to provide a Rs. 1 lakh loan from the SC Corporation and an additional Rs. 2 lakh subsidy for her son, who plans to open a mobile phone shop.
In a separate visit, the Chief Minister personally made coffee for a family in Edukondalu, serving it before distributing their pension.
