Minister Gummadi Sandhyarani and MLAs gave a warm welcome to him, when he came to Vijayawada Tummalapalli Kalakshetram to participate in Adivasi Day program. After that he went to the tribals and greeted them and mingled with them. After that they cheered the Chief Minister by beating the drum and greeted him coming in different costumes. After drinking Araku coffee, CM Chandrababu went to the exhibition hall set up with the products made by the tribals.
On the occasion of International Indigenous Day, Chief Minister Chandrababu tweeted greetings to the tribals of the state. He reminded that one of the core tenets of the Telugu Desam Party is that the tribals should become participants in the mainstream of life. That is why many programs were implemented during the Telugu TDPperiod to improve their education, health and living standards.
Special welfare and development programs have been provided for the tribals. Araku coffee and tribal products have been given a boost for international recognition, he said. He asserted that preserving the tribal species means keeping the Indian culture intact. He assured that his government will support the tribal communities in all ways in the coming days and provide a better future for the tribals and their children.
Interacting with the tribals, Chief Minister Chandrababu made it clear that tribals are people with bravery, natural talent and skill and it is his wish that tribals should be ahead in all fields. He deplored that tribals are lagging behind in development, though they are having many unique traditions and arts.
He recalled that they had issued GO No. 127 to celebrate Adivasi Day, which was held every year during the TDP government. But, it was not followed during the last five years of the YCP regime. Naidu said that tribal children should take inspiration from President Draupadi Murmu, who has grown step by step and became the president of the country, beginning her career as a school teacher.
