Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has cautioned ministers to learn lessons from Bangladesh developments. He compared people’s verdict in the state against YS Jaganmohan Reddy and their revolt against Sheikh Hussain in Bangladesh. He said that while the AP election was a `silent revolution’, what we are now witnessing in Bangladesh is a `violent revolution’.
After the cabinet meeting on Wednesday, the Chief Minister discussed political issues with ministers on political issues. He said that as we are a democratic country people have given judgment in the form of vote, where as he are now seeing the result of popular uprising in the neighboring country. So, he advised ministers to let us go according to law, despite the anger and resentment over the anarchy committed by the YCP regime.
He recalled that he was among the victims who were arrested unnecessarily and jailed in illegal cases. He made it clear that no minister should do what YCP ministers and leaders have done during their regime. He asked ministers and legislators to hold discussions among people and take decisions according to their views while taking decisions on the development of the constituencies.
Chandrababu also advised them that they should be available to people all the time and try to resolve their problems. He said that Gram Sabhas will be held to resolve re-survey disputes within three months. It is suggested to study the procedure in force in other states regarding re-survey.
He said that most of the complaints received from people are related to revenue. He deplored that the previous government had messed up the revenue system in the name of land resurvey. The names and figures on the survey stones were erased and used for government purposes.
The Chief Minister said that linking of rivers will be given high priority and efforts will be made to ensure that there would not be any problem of irrigation and drinking water. Even if there is a drought in the coming days, he assured that water utilization measures will be taken without any problems. Accordingly, he advised that ministers should coordinate with the people and organize Jayabheri programmes.
