Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu cautioned the NDA MLAs that they should not repeat the mistakes made by the previous YSRCP government during its five-year rule in AP by using abusive language. Giving a keynote address at a meeting organized to educate the MLAs during the assembly budget sessions, he said that they should remember people will not accept their representatives using abusive language.
He recalled that people became angry with the behaviour of YCP MLAs, who diluted the assembly proceedings using abusive language and that’s why their number was confined to 11 members in the house. MLAs should be aware that people are constantly watching what their public representatives say in the assembly.
He reminded them that if they speak obscenities, people will not welcome them. He indirectly mentioned the defeat of the YSRCP in the last elections as something that happened in the past. CM Chandrababu also gave another key suggestion to the MLAs that they should not think that there is no opposition in the assembly, but that we should work with accountability to the people.
The Chief Minister reminded the MLAs that the assembly is like a platform to tell the people what they need and what we have done. He advised MLAs to definitely study the bills and policies brought by the government along with the budget.
He deplored that the interest of MLAs in learning the subject is decreasing day by day. This is not good… they should learn continuously… they should know. “I am also taking notes of who is talking about which subject now. It would be useful for MLAs to study what kind of fund allocations are there in the central budget”, he added.
“If you have the interest to work, anything is possible. Don’t think that there is no opposition in the House, what do we have? They have no responsibility, but we do. Let us work responsibly for the people. The Assembly is a platform to tell the people what they need… what we have done. People always pay attention to what the representatives we send to the Assembly are saying for us,” Chandrababu said.
