Chandrababu Ambitious plan To Lay 17,500 km CC Roads In Next Five Years

Sunday, December 22, 2024

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has formulated an ambitious target of laying 17,500 kilometers of CC roads in the state during  the next five years. He also wants to construct 10,000  kilometers of CC drainage canals.

Conducting a review meeting with Panchayat Raj and Rural Development departments, along with deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan at the secretariat, he deplored that during the YCP government minimum level infrastructure has not been created in villages by diverting funds to be spent in the villages.

The CM said that the solid waste management centers which were rooted out due to the previous government should be reopened. Pawan Kalyan  explained that Gram Sabhas are being held across the state on 23rd of this month to discuss the NREGS works. It has been clarified that steps are being taken to reopen all the waste-to-wealth centers from October 2.

The Deputy Chief Minister assured that this department will be strengthened for the development of rural areas. He said that if the previous YSRCP government tried to change the shape of the villages through various programs undertaken between 2014-19, the systems were weakened and the villages were turned into centers of problems.

The Chief Minister said that the Panchayat Raj Department will be given instructions to bring light to the villages and provide infrastructure. He also indicated that the Janmabhoomi-2 program will be launched from January 2025. Every household, village and region will identify what kind of infrastructure is needed and take appropriate action in this regard, he added.

Chandrababu advised to work according to plan to provide basic needs like electricity, gas, toilets and water tap in the villages. He also said that facilities such as street lights, drainage canals, cement roads, drinking water supply and solid waste management centers should be provided for every village.

Roads and marketing areas should be identified for connecting the village to nearby areas. He suggested that the Panchayat Raj department should work with a comprehensive plan to identify these as minimum requirements.
