Centre halts 1000 crores of funds for AP

The BJP-ruled central government has sent a shocker to the Andhra Pradesh government regarding its released funds. It has taken back a total sum of more than 1000 crores of rupees citing various reasons, leaving the YSRCP in disguise.

Already the state of AP is in a huge fiscal deficit and the government had already crossed the debt limit of 46000 crores of rupees even before the completion of its third term of the fiscal year. At this juncture, the YSRCP government has pinned huge hopes on central funds but to their surprise, the center stopped the funds. Actually, AP has to get close to 654 crores of rupees under GST returns and another 300 plus crores granted for other welfare schemes but according to the recent update from AP state’s top finance official, the total money was taken back citing past debts.

Meanwhile, the IAS officers are sharing their disbelief as they were yet to get their salaries paid for the last month. Not just the bureaucrats but many state government departments didn’t get their November salaries along with pensions for the retired employees. Experts only blame the ruling party’s misuse of funds and diverting them to give freebies instead of ruling the state and developing it.
