Prime Minister Narendra Modi has returned to India after concluding his visit to Poland and Ukraine. Today, a central cabinet meeting was held in Delhi under Modi’s chairmanship. The cabinet approved three significant decisions during the meeting.
The cabinet greenlit the Bio E3 (Biotechnology for Economy, Environment, Employment) initiative and the Science Dharah Scheme, which includes an internship program for 11th and 12th-grade students. Central Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw provided details on these new programs, highlighting the government’s efforts to boost the bio-manufacturing sector with the Bio E3 initiative. He emphasized that the bio-revolution is on the horizon, promising substantial employment opportunities in the biosciences field.
Vaishnaw also revealed that the Science Dharah scheme integrates various sectors such as Science and Technology, Research and Development, Innovations, and Technological Advancement. This integration aims to simplify fund utilization, coordination of associated schemes, and program management.
Additionally, the cabinet approved a unified pension scheme, which will benefit 2.3 million central government employees by providing comprehensive social security through the new Unified Pension Scheme.
