The Government of Andhra Pradesh faced a huge hurdle from the Central Government regarding the construction of houses inside the capital of Amaravati for outsiders. More details in this huge set back as follows:

The AP Government in its saga of constructing homes for the poor has decided to accommodate houses for as many as 47,017 people who don’t live within the region of the capital. When they were pursuing the plan, the local landowners of Amaravati who gave their lands for the construction of the capital approached the Court of law stating that it is not ethical to use their precious lands for outsiders but the state government already amended the CRDA act, and allocated a huge space for the construction and the case is still pending in the Supreme Court of India. In this regard, the State Government requested the Central Government to allocate funds for the construction of houses for the outsiders in Amaravati and it even claimed that the funds shall be given back in case they lose the case against the landowners of Amaravati.

The Central Government made it super clear that funds shall not be given as of now since the case is still in court and if a verdict arrives favoring the AP Government, then the funds shall be processed without any hurdles. This new condition from Delhi shook the YSRCP government which pinned hopes on constructing and giving these houses before the elections.
