In Vijayawada, the Election Commission of India (ECI) issued directives on Saturday, prohibiting the engagement of village and ward volunteers in any election-related activities. Additionally, the ECI instructed the suspension of announcing results for the AP Teacher Eligibility Test and the postponement of the AP Teacher Recruitment Test due to the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) ahead of the upcoming elections. Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Mukesh Kumar Meena stated in a released statement that volunteers are to refrain from disbursing cash benefits to beneficiaries under any scheme, including pensions.
