The outburst of TDP state general secretary Buddha Venkanna on Saturday that he did not get justice even after TDP came to power seems to be not an isolated incident, but reflecting discontent prevailed among senior TDP leaders all over the state.
Though during the last five years TDP leaders became targets of YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s repressive measures, several cases were foisted against them and many of them even went to jails, most of them not finding a place in the present government.
About 80 MLAs and most of the ministers were not seen during the last five years when the TDP cadre was fighting against YCP’s victimization. Hardly even they voiced their anger towards the government’s attitude. But they were rewarded with party seats and some of them even inducted into the cabinet.
Buddha Venkanna also recalled that he had fought many battles during the five years of YCP’s wicked rule and as many as 37 cases were filed against him. But, he deplored that now in the TDP government his words are not valid in the absence of any official position. As a result, he said he is unable to do justice to his cadre and also to the people who come to him.
Incidentally, he made these remarks at the birthday celebrations of Vijayawada MP Keshineni Shivnath (Chinni). Buddha Venkanna reminded that if Kodali Nani, Perni Nani and Vallabhaneni Vamsi were talking nonsense about Chandrababu and Nara Lokesh in the YSP government, he would respond bitterly.
He also said that cases were filed against him in Gannavaram and even when Jogi Ramesh went to attack Chandrababu’s house it was he who responded spontaneously against thim. But, he wondered that most of the MLAs, who contested now were not seen then and none of them were seen responding to YCP leader’s accusations.
Buddha Venkanna further said that he was denied a seat in recent elections that he applied with his blood and handed it over to Chandrababu Naidu. Though Venkanna exposed himself with his discontent, several senior TDP leaders are also unable to bear ignoring their struggles when the party was in power. Most of those in the present cabinet are known for playing `safe game’ during the YCP regime.
