Boyapati announces Akhanda 2 with Balakrishna

Nandamuri Balakrishna and Boyapati Srinu delivered a hat-trick of hits with Simha, Legend and Akhanda. While Simha and Legend received unanimous responses, Akhanda managed to secure only mixed reviews. However, Balakrishna’s power-packed performance in dual roles and Boyapati Srinu’s high-voltage narration of action episodes ensured that the film emerged as a big hit. SS Thaman’s stupendous background score gave a big boost to the box office prospects despite the moderate talk from regular audiences.

The combination of Balakrishna and Boyapati Srinu always generates huge buzz everywhere. It was expected that they would once again reunite for a powerful film that will be released just before the assembly elections of AP in 2024. However, both of them got busy with their respective projects. Now, Boyapati officially announced that he is working on the sequel to Akhanda 2.

During the pre-release event of Boyapati’s upcoming film Skanda, he officially made a statement that script work Akhanda 2 is currently on. So, it is clear that Balayya and Boyapati are going to collaborate for the fourth time. However, it looks like the film will not hit the screens before the elections in Andhra Pradesh.

In Akhanda, Balakrishna’s goosebump-inducing performance as Aghora stunned everyone. His terrific screen presence and high-decibel dialogues with mass episodes save the day for Akhanda despite its formulaic approach.

The second part of Akhanda will surely set a high bar because of the craze for Balayya – Boyapati combo in trade circles and audiences.
