Infamous rowdy sheeter Borugadda Anil Kumar was one among the many YSR Congress party supporters who frequently indulged in foul-mouthing the then Opposition party and its leaders including former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh.
He even attacked Janasena supremo Pawan Kalyan during his interactions on public forums. Many a time he used abusive language over ladies associated with TDP and Janasena and also openly threatened to kill Chandrababu during one such media interview. After the defeat of YSRCP in the recent elections, Anil Kumar immediately went into exile and disappeared from the scene after sensing that the new government will pay him back for his bad deeds.
On Wednesday night, the notorious criminal was arrested by Andhra Pradesh police in connection with a case relating to 2021 over an alleged demand of 50 lakh from one karlapudi Prakash Babu who lodged a complaint in Arundalpet police station. He was interrogated by the police over the 2021 case and also grilled him intensely for his derogatory remarks on the then Opposition party leaders and their families. He was later sent to judicial custody for 13 days and was lodged in Rajamahendravaram jail.
Reports suggest that Borugadda Anil Kumar confessed his criminal and illegal activities and also revealed the motive behind his abusive behaviour against several political leaders. He is said to have admitted the backing of YSR Congress party bigwigs who encouraged him to use disparaging and vulgar language against TDP leaders and supporters. He also pleaded guilty and stated not to repeat his past nature.
During interrogation, Anil Kumar has reportedly admitted that he was promised a nominated post and good position in the YSR Congress party if he continues to attack the Opposition party leaders. He also indirectly blamed a former YSRCP leader who defected into another party as the main reason for his rude behaviour in those days.
Meanwhile, the police of Andhra Pradesh is digging all the past cases booked against Anil Kumar to ensure that he is jailed for several months.
