The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Jagan Mohan Reddy distributed tabs to the government school students and made the news. However, the BJP leader Somu Veerraju is quick to shift the entire credit to the BJP-led central government.
On the occasion of Jagan’s 50th birthday, Jagan’s government spent more than 644 crores of rupees and provided Samsung A8 tablets to 5.18 lakh students in AP government schools. The tabs also have pre-installed BYJU’s learning app with free premium courses. As happy as the YSRCP camp was claiming the full credit, the BJP leader Somu Veerraju claims otherwise.
Somu stated that no state government welfare program is run without the contribution of the central government and so is the new tabs thing. According to him, the tab’s distribution is completely the central government-sponsored program under the name ‘Shikha Abhiyan’ and the state just acted as a mediator between the central government and students.
All are finding fault with Veerraju’s comments that how come the center takes credit for a program that was planned and implemented by AP state. And if his claims were true, then how come this program was not implemented in all the remaining 28 states but only in Andhra Pradesh? Netizens are quick to declare it was neither center nor the state that should take credit but the BYJUs who offered the premium program for free.
