Hyderabad: BJP leader and Medak MP Raghunandan Rao has levelled serious allegations against BRS leaders K.T. Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao in connection with the 400-acre land dispute in Hyderabad’s Kanchagachibowli area. Addressing the media, Rao criticised the BRS leadership, stating that their current outrage over the issue is akin to “a thief crying thief.”
Expressing strong disapproval of the BRS’s handling of land-related matters during its tenure, the BJP MP accused the former government of selling public lands indiscriminately. He questioned the silence of KTR and Harish Rao during their party’s 10-year rule, asking why they are raising objections now.
Rao further questioned why no review was conducted on the lands belonging to the University of Hyderabad (HCU) and why those lands were not formally recorded in government documents during the BRS regime.
He alleged that the BRS leaders are now shedding “crocodile tears” and reiterated that it is the government’s duty to protect university lands.
Raghunandan Rao also revealed that BJP leaders have met Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan regarding the issue. He assured that the party would continue to fight on behalf of students to ensure not an inch of university land is lost.
