The BJP MP M Raghunandan Rao became serious about the behavior of the TTD officials and he was angry that the letters given by the Telangana public representatives were not being taken into consideration.
He deplored that even though the AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had suggested that the letters of Telangana leaders be given priority, he wondered that they the TTD board is not considering.
He had darshan of the Lord in Tirumala on Friday. Later, speaking to the media he demanded that the TTD board should take a decision on their recommendation letters quickly. He said that they should have darshan on the letters given to the devotees during the summer vacations.
He warned that if the situation does not change by April, he will come to the TTD office with all the Telangana representatives and decide there. Last week Telangana Endowment Minister Konda Surekha also expressed concern over TTD Board ignoring letters of MPs, MLs and MLCs from Telangana. She also wrote a letter to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu in this regard.
The AP Chief Minister has instructed the TTD to consider the letters of the public representatives of Telangana state as per the request of the Telangana government. The rules have also been finalized to this extent. It has been decided that the letters of Telangana public representatives will be implemented from February 1.
With this, public representatives are giving letters for darshan and accommodation to devotees coming from Telangana in Tirumala. However, Telangana leaders are expressing their anger that their letters are not being taken into consideration.
If implemented as directed by the Chief Minister, TTD officials say that 1100 additional tickets will be increased per day for Telangana public representatives. Already, 7500 darshans are being given to VIPs per day. Now, 2000 VIP back-to-back darshans are being given to letters of public representatives.
Presently, 75,000 devotees are having darshan of Srivari every day. So, naturally, the argument is being made that the pressure on TTD will be high. As a result they are hesitating to honour Telangana leaders’ letters.
