New Delhi: In a significant recognition, Lal Krishna Advani, the prominent figure in the BJP, renowned for propelling the party onto the national stage through his Rath Yatra advocating for Ayodhya’s Ram Temple in the early 1990s, has been honored with the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award. Expressing his joy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared, “I am delighted to announce that Shri LK Advani Ji will be conferred with the Bharat Ratna. I had the privilege of speaking to him and extending my heartfelt congratulations on this well-deserved honor,” as conveyed in his statement on X.
Prime Minister Modi, in praising the veteran leader, emphasized the monumental role played by LK Advani in India’s development. He hailed Advani as one of the most respected statesmen in the country. Describing Advani’s life journey from grassroots work to serving as the Deputy Prime Minister, PM Modi remarked, “He stands as one of the most respected statesmen of our times, with a monumental contribution to India’s development. Beginning from grassroots engagement, he ascended to the position of Deputy Prime Minister, leaving an indelible mark. His roles as Home Minister and I&B Minister showcased his distinction, and his parliamentary interventions have consistently been exemplary, brimming with profound insights.”
