Bharat Bachao Nominated Three professors To Hold peace Talks Between Center, Maoists

Monday, December 8, 2025

While the Narendra Modi government is moving forward with a clear strategic plan to eradicate Maoists from the country, the Maoists are facing difficulty in resisting the massive offensive launched by the union home minister `Operation Kagar’.

As a result, a series of encounters are taking place. Thousands of armed personnel from both the center and state forces are surrounding thick forests, Union Home Minister Amit Shah last week said that now Maoists are confined to four districts only. This makes the presence of Maoists a big challenge.

In such a situation, the Bharat Bachao organization has demanded that the central government should stop Operation Kagar and hold peace talks with the Maoists. To this end, Bharat Bachao wrote an open letter to Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai on Saturday.

In the letter Bharat Bachao came forward to act as a negotiator for the peace talks between the central government and the Maoists. The organization has also proposed names of  three professors for peace talks between the central government and the Maoists. Along with Professor Jaganmohan Singh, Professor Hargopal and Professor Manoranjan Mahanti have been mentioned.

Professor Jaganmohan Singh is the nephew of the famous freedom fighter Bhagat Singh. In 2004, Professor Haragopal acted as a negotiator between the AP government and the Maoists, and Professor Manoranjan Mohanty is a renowned political scientist.

Bharat Bachao Vice Chairman Dr. M.F. Gopinath urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to take the initiative to hold talks with the Maoists. The organization has Gade Innaiah as the organizing secretary and Banjarla Ramesh Babu as the national council member.

The central government has set a target of eliminating Maoists from the country by the end of March 2026. As part of that, the center has already called on the Maoists to surrender and contribute to the development of the country. The center has promised to support them in every way if the Maoists surrender.

In this context, many Maoists have already surrendered in Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Maharashtra and Jharkhand and other states. In Chhattisgarh, their influence is very strong. In this context, the central and state governments have taken strong steps to root out Maoists in that state.

This has led to several encounters in a row. This has dealt a huge blow to the Maoists. In this context, the Maoists have already made it clear that they are ready for talks with the Center. But there has been no response from the Center so far.
