In a shocking incident from Tenali, Andhra Pradesh, three known rowdy-sheet criminals allegedly conspired to murder PC 6068 Kanna Chiranjeevi, currently posted at Tenali 3rd Town Police Station. The accused include Vemu Naveen alias “Killer”, Chebrolu John Victor, and Dom Rakesh—all having a lengthy criminal background.
The planned attack occurred on the night of April 24, 2025, at around 9:30 PM near Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s statue in Ithanagar. The trio intercepted Chiranjeevi’s motorbike, assaulted him, and prepared to stab him with knives. Fortunately, the constable escaped and filed a complaint.
Based on his report, a case was registered under Cr.No.42/2025 u/s 126(2), 109(1), 121(1) r/w 3(5) of the BNS at Tenali II Town Police Station. On April 26, 2025, the investigation officer arrested the accused John Victor, Dom Rakesh, and Sheikh Kareemullah, who are now in judicial custody. All three are listed in local rowdy sheets.
The incident has stirred discussion within the police department, highlighting the ongoing challenges in dealing with habitual offenders.
