The newly appointed AP PCC Chief, YS Sharmila, visited Idupulapaya today, where she paid homage at the samadhi of her late father, YS Rajasekhar Reddy, at the estate. Addressing a press conference during the occasion, she expressed that her visit was to seek the blessings of YS Rajasekhar Reddy as she assumes the role of AP Congress President. Sharmila emphasized Rajasekhar Reddy’s deep commitment to the Congress party and its ideology, stating that he dedicated his life to those principles.
In her remarks, YS Sharmila lamented the current state of secularism and bahujanism in India, asserting that the original meanings of these terms have been lost. She called for a re-establishment of these values and emphasized the need for the Congress party’s ideology to prevail. Sharmila expressed her commitment to standing up for these principles, pledging to continue the fight until YSR’s aspiration of making Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister is realized.
During the event, former minister Ahmadullah joined the Congress party, and YS Sharmila symbolically welcomed him by draping him with a Congress party scarf.
