AP Growth Rate Touched 12.94%, As Against National Growth Rate of 9.7%

The government has stated in the socio-economic survey that Andhra Pradesh has recorded a growth of 12.94 percent in the current financial year. This report prepared by the state planning department was tabled in the Legislative Assembly. The nearly 450-page report is filled with growth figures.

The report announced that the GSDP at current prices was Rs 14.22 lakh crore last year, while it has reached Rs 16.06 lakh crore this financial year. This is 12.94 percent. At the same time, it was stated that the national growth was limited to 9.7 percent.

While the GVA (Gross Value Added) also showed a minus 4.98 percent growth in the agriculture sector last year at 2010-11 prices, the report shows that this year it has recorded a growth of 11.46 percent. It was concluded that the growth rate in the industrial sector has decreased compared to last year.

Among the four sectors, the mining and quarrying sector recorded a growth of 2.7 percent, while the manufacturing sector saw a decline from 13.83 percent to 5.32 percent. It is noteworthy that the electricity, gas and water sector recorded the same growth as last year. While the construction sector grew by 10.03 percent last year, it has decreased slightly this year to 9.55 percent.

It is noteworthy that the growth in the trade and hotels sector has decreased in relation to the service sector. It is found that the growth in the communication sector has decreased by more than half compared to last year. In the microeconomic sector, if we look at the growth in the agriculture, industrial and services sectors, a huge growth has been shown in agriculture.

It is noteworthy that the growth that was 3.49 percent last year has increased to 15.86 percent this year. In terms of funds, while the GVA was 4.48 lakh crores last year, it has increased only to 5.19 lakh crores this year. The industrial sector has shown a decrease from 7.42 percent to 6.71 percent. A slight increase has been reported in the service sector.

It is noteworthy that the per capita income has also shown a huge growth. Last year, the per capita income was shown at Rs. 2,37,951 with a growth of 8.2 percent, while this year it has been shown at Rs. 2,68,653 with a growth of 12.9 percent. It is stated that the growth at the national level is only 8.7 percent.
