AP Congress President Sharmila Criticizes Union Budget as Election Promises

Monday, November 18, 2024
AP Congress President Sharmila has sharply criticized the Union Budget, questioning whether its allocations are genuine budgetary provisions or merely election manifesto promises. Speaking on the budget presented by the Centre, she stated, “The NDA government has left the entire country dissatisfied with vague promises and no concrete figures or numbers.”
Focusing on Andhra Pradesh, Sharmila highlighted that the budget failed to address the state’s need for special category status and neglected many aspects of the bifurcation act. She accused the NDA government of betraying both the hopes of the state’s residents and the integrity of the alliance. According to Sharmila, the promises made in the budget are evidence of this failure, further disappointing Andhra Pradesh, which has been struggling for over a decade.
Sharmila also criticized the BJP for reducing the budget to a mere formality, likening it to a list of grocery store items. She condemned the budget’s inadequacy and called for the TDP and Jana Sena parties to apologize to the people of Andhra Pradesh and sever their ties with the BJP for the betterment of the state.
