AP Cabinet Decides For Land Acquisition In Amaravati, stop Land pooling

The AP government has decided to acquire land where necessary as part of the construction of the state capital Amaravati. This was decided in a cabinet meeting held at the state secretariat on Friday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.

In order to speed up the process of land allotment and plot allotment to projects and institutions already underway as part of the construction of the capital, it was decided in this meeting to acquire land under the Land Acquisition and Rehabilitation (LA, R&R) Act-2013. To this end, it was also decided in this meeting to withdraw the notification already issued to acquire 343.36 acres of land through land pooling.

The CRDA will issue a notification regarding land acquisition as per the law where necessary. State Information and Public Relations Minister Parthasarathy explained the decisions taken by the cabinet to the media. Similarly, the minister said that it was also decided in this meeting to set up a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to enable speedy completion of development works in the capital area.

The Cabinet has approved the proposal to set up an advisory committee in the state to develop the first-ever green hydrogen project in the state. The Cabinet has approved the proposal to relax the rules to allow those with more than two children to contest elections in water bodies. An amendment to the Irrigation Systems Act will be made to this effect.

The Cabinet has approved the administrative approval to carry out flood damage repair works worth Rs. 449.92 lakh for the crucial safety works of canals in the Prakasam Barrage and Diviseema area. The proposals prepared for strengthening plates, angles, high-tension bolts and radial crest gates required for the Mylavaram dam in YSR Kadapa district have been approved.

The Cabinet has approved administrative approvals worth Rs. 126.06 crore for water supply works to Kalyani Dam to provide drinking water to Tirupati and Tirumala in Tirupati district, and administrative approvals worth Rs. 55.60 crore for lifting 100 cusecs of water from the HNSS main canal from the Kottalapalli lift gate to provide irrigation water to 10,500 acres of ayacut in Uravakonda, Vajrakarur mandal and Vidapanakal mandals of Anantapur district.
